Frequently Asked Questions
Stepping into a new social space takes energy. Here is explicitly what to expect at an ND MKE gathering so there are no surprises.
What actually happens at an event?
We set up a calm room with distinct zones for board games, LEGO building, and puzzles. When you arrive, you can pick a station, join an existing activity, or start your own. There are no group announcements or structured presentations.
Do I need to bring my own games or LEGO?
Not at all. We provide a core library of board games, building bricks, and puzzles. However, if you have a favorite low-stress game or personal craft project you love working on, you are always welcome to bring it along.
Is there a cost or age requirement?
ND MKE gatherings are completely free to attend and geared toward neurodivergent adults (18+).
What if I get sensory overload or need to leave early?
You can step out at any point—for 5 minutes or for the rest of the event. Every venue we select has a designated quiet area nearby, and you never need to apologize or explain why you are leaving.
Can I bring a partner, friend, or support person?
Yes. Plus-ones, support people, and allies are very welcome as long as they respect the Sensory Contract and maintain the low-pressure environment for everyone.
Do I have to introduce myself to everyone?
No. We do not do circle introductions, name games, or forced icebreakers. You can interact as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.
How do I know when and where the first meeting is?
We are currently scouting quiet venues in Milwaukee. The best way to find out first is to drop your email on our contact page, and we will send out a simple announcement as soon as a date is locked in.
