The Sensory Contract
This is our commitment to you. Every venue we scout and every gathering we host strictly honors these boundaries to ensure a low-pressure, accessible environment.
π΅ No Loud Music
We keep ambient sound strictly controlled with zero background music. You can hold conversations or focus without competing against audio clutter.
π‘ No Flashing Lights
We select rooms with soft, steady ambient lighting and zero strobing or harsh fluorescent flickers to prevent sensory overload or migraine triggers.
π‘οΈ Comfortable Temp
Rooms are kept at a balanced temperature. We avoid overly hot or drafty spaces so physical discomfort doesn't add to sensory fatigue.
π§Ό Fragrance-Free
We gently ask all attendees to refrain from wearing heavy perfumes, colognes, or scented lotions out of respect for chemical and olfactory sensitivities.
π¬ Conversation Optional
Parallel play is fully celebrated! You are welcome to sit with us and assemble a puzzle or build LEGO without any pressure to chat or keep up small talk.
π§ Headphones Welcome
Wear noise-canceling headphones, loop earplugs, or earbuds whenever you need. Nobody will assume you are being impolite or disengaged.
πͺ Fidgets Welcome
Bring your favorite fidget toys, pop-its, tangles, or spin rings. Tactile tools help regulate focus and comfort, and are encouraged here.
π€« Quiet Area Available
A designated low-sensory step-out area or quiet hallway space is always identified so you can take a breather and recharge whenever you need.
π« No Forced Icebreakers
You will never be put on the spot to introduce yourself, wear name tags, or participate in awkward circle games. Join in at your own pace.
π Arrive / Leave Anytime
Show up 30 minutes late or leave after 20 minutes without needing to explain, apologize, or make a grand exit. Your timeline is 100% up to you.
πͺ Personal Space
Seating is arranged with comfortable elbow room and clear walking paths so you never feel crowded or trapped in a corner.
π Rules in Writing
Event format, room layout, and rules are clearly published online and printed at the door, taking the guesswork out of social expectations.
βΎοΈ It's Okay to Stim
Rocking, hand-flapping, pacing, or quiet vocalizing are natural ways to self-regulate. You are invited to unmask and exist comfortably as yourself.
π Food Optional
Eating or drinking is never required. When food is present, it is kept separate from gaming areas so you can participate without food-related sensory stress.
